Interscholastic Athletics

The Ossining School District's Interscholastic Athletic Program is a natural extension of the school curriculum that provides activities for the growth and development of our students. This program also contributes significantly to preparing our students for becoming productive, contributing citizens of our community and society. A comprehensive program of athletic activities expresses our commitment to ensure the development of physical fitness and personal health, the acquisition of competent performances, and the achievement of excellence in the student's chosen sport.

Health Education Department

The purpose of the Health Education Department is to provide the skills, information and resources that students need to live safe and healthy lives. The curriculum is designed to address the most current issues affecting youth today in order to empower students to make healthy decisions. Focus is placed on developing healthy behaviors now in order to promote a lifetime of wellness.

Physical Education

Physical education teaches grade-school age children physical fitness techniques, sports playing, and guides them toward living a healthy and active lifestyle.

Healthy lifestyle behaviors have given emphasis as an important characteristic in health promotion and to prevent diseases. Students and athletes  who practiced healthy lifestyle behaviors in the early stage of life can withstand health risks in later life. High quality physical education provides students with a planned, sequential, and instruction designed to develop motor skills, knowledge and behaviors for active living, physical fitness, sportsperson-ship, self-efficacy and emotional intelligence. Regardless of the mode (face-to-face, hybrid or online), the goal of physical education is to develop physically literate individuals who have the knowledge, skills and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of healthful physical activity.
