Principal Message

Greetings and Saludos,
It is an absolute honor and privilege to introduce myself as the new principal of Roosevelt School. I am so excited to continue seeing our students grow throughout the upcoming year as both learners and compassionate leaders. Supporting our children and nourishing both their brains and their hearts will always be at the forefront of my leadership.
My career in education started 23 years ago in the New York City Department of Education. as a Paraprofessional, then transitioned as an elementary school teacher in Bilingual programs and Special Education/General Education settings. Beyond the classroom, I have served as an AIS Teacher, IEP Coordinator, and Assistant Principal. Of all my roles, however, one of the most important to me is being part of an amazing and caring family, which includes my incredible wife (Alex) and my awesome son (Leandro) who will be entering his first year of high school.
As we embark on this exciting new school year together, here are my core commitments to you and your scholar:
- Joy in Learning: I may be seen wearing silly costumes or dancing around school just to put a smile on your child’s face.
- Family First: I will always lead with love, kindness, treating each student with the same care I would my own family.
- Unlocking Potential: I will strive to bring out the best in every child and help them discover their unique passions and interests.
- High Standards: I will hold all students to the highest expectations for both academics and behavior.
- Mutual Respect: I will remain patient, kind, and respectful—modeling the exact qualities I expect from our students, staff, and families.
- Unwavering Belief: I will never give up on your child!
Building a strong partnership with you is essential to our success. Please stay in touch and never hesitate to let me know how I can best support your family—I am always just a phone call or email away. We are in this together!
With gratitude and excitement,
Louie Charvet
Principal, Roosevelt School
Saludos y Bienvenidos,
Louie Charvet
